Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 26, 2026
Been a While is an iPhone app that remembers when you last did recurring things around the house and for yourself. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: it stays on your phone.
What we collect
Nothing. Been a While does not collect, store on a server, or transmit any personal data. The app has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and it makes no network requests.
What stays on your device
Everything you enter — items, their last-done dates, completion history, and settings — is stored only in the app's own storage on your device. Deleting the app deletes this data. "Reset all data" in Settings deletes it as well.
Notifications
Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device by the app. No notification content is sent to us or to any server. You can allow or refuse notifications in iOS Settings at any time; the app works the same without them.
Backups and exports
When you choose Save a backup or Export history as CSV, the app creates a file and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Where that file goes — Files, AirDrop, a messaging app — is your choice. Restore from backup reads a file you pick. The app never uploads or downloads these files itself.
Your device's own backup (for example iCloud Backup or a computer backup) may include the app's data according to your device settings. That is controlled by you and by Apple, not by the app.
Children
The app does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app starts collecting any data, this page will be updated first and the change will be noted in the app's release notes.
